You will need the right tools to report live against your KPI’s so you can capitalise on opportunities or react quickly to problems, but you don’t want to take a degree in IT to use them.
Of course, you need to invest in IT, but you need to make sure that your money is invested wisely and that there is a genuine return or demonstrable efficiency against your spend. You need happy staff who are equipped to focus on the job they are trained to do, not wasting time working ‘offline’ or being a slave to an outdated system.
You also need to know “what’s new”, so you can keep your business one step ahead and jump on those new technologies before you competitors do.
